my role Merchandise Designer at Paper Mill Playhouse
more info I am highlighting a few productions that I’ve favored designing the merchandise of. I will discuss the designs for Hercules in full (as opposed to focusing on one item). Designing for Disney was a learning experience in of itself, mainly because the merchandise had to be sent to China for product testing. Learning how to navigate that and how much time to allow for merchandise to go through the different stages of testing was very informative, especially as we get ready to design for The Little Mermaid. In order to not write an entire book on this process, I’ll simply say that I put myself in the shoes of the buyer. What would I want to buy as a Disney fan and lover of Disney merchandise. I’ll let my images show the rest of the process.
